provides consulting services in hydrology, geomorphology and geology focusing on analyzing land management impacts on water quality and aquatic ecosystems and development of mitigation and stream restoration strategies. 

 

OEI has been located in Healdsburg in northern Sonoma County since 1997, and was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1993 by Dr. Matt O’Connor.  OEI provides consulting services to clients located primarily in Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Mendocino, Lake and Humboldt Counties in northern California, as well as in the Pacific Northwest. OEI analyzes a wide range of issues pertaining to water resources, specializing in fluvial geomorphology (form and process in rivers and streams) and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Additional specialty areas include erosion and sedimentation, landslide mapping and evaluation, and wildland hydrology (surface water and ground water). OEI provides its clients with analyses supporting permit and grant applications, CEQA studies, water quality certifications related to non-point sources, and planning studies. We also provide expert services in relation to enforcement actions and litigation.
